When to use a line chart
Line charts show change over an ordered dimension — usually time: revenue by month, users by week, temperature by day. The connected line makes direction, rate and inflection points obvious: is it growing, flattening, or dipping?
Tips for readable line charts
- Keep x labels ordered — the parser preserves your paste order, so paste chronologically.
- 5–15 points read best; dense series get noisy fast.
- Value labels sit above each point — turn to a bar chart when precise per-point comparison matters more than shape.
